What is a Pass Time at UC Davis?

A Pass Time at UC Davis is a window of time (4 hours) in which you can register for courses. Pass Times are assigned based on how many units you have.

A senior will have a better pass time than a junior, etc. This is because these students have specific classes that they need to graduate.

If you miss your pass time window, don’t panic. You will still have an opportunity to register for courses. If it is the registration day, you can wait until open hours (Saturday-Sunday, 10 am-6 pm) or (Monday-Friday, 8 pm-12 am) and register, then make sure you don’t miss those too. You can try to use open hours if it is a day or more. If that doesn’t work, you may have to wait until your Pass 2 time.

UC Davis Schedule Builder extension

Schedule Builder Export is a Google Chrome extension that allows exporting from UC Davis Schedule Builder to Google Calendar. This extension inserts an “Export” button into the UC Davis Schedule Builder webpage.

Clicking the export button after finalizing a schedule will import and sync the schedule into Google Calendar.  You must be signed into Chrome (not Google) using your desired account for this extension to work.

How to waitlist on UC Davis schedule builder

If a class is full, students can place themselves on a waitlist using Schedule Builder during their Pass One registration appointment time. The waitlist process runs through the 12th day of instruction.

Note that not all courses have waitlists, and some only have a waitlist during Pass Two.

Waitlisted courses count towards the maximum units allowed during registration periods. The units of a waitlisted course do not count when determining eligibility for financial aid.

Students are notified via their UC Davis email address when they are enrolled in a class from the waitlist.

All students are responsible for dropping waitlisted courses they do not wish to attend via the UC Davis Schedule Builder.

During the academic terms, waitlists begin during Pass One registration appointments and end after the last day to add classes, the 12th day of instruction.

Students who have not been added to a waitlisted course before the waitlist ends will be dropped, and the registration error, Dropped-Waitlist Ended, will be displayed in the status box for the class on Schedule Builder.

What does s/u mean on UC Davis schedule builder?

S/U means Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) Grading. The grade of ‘Satisfactory’ is awarded to graduate students for work in graduate courses that otherwise would receive a grade of B– or better and for work in undergraduate courses that otherwise would receive a grade of C– or better.

For graduate students, the “S” grade is equivalent to letter grades of C or higher, and the “U” grade is equivalent to C- or lower.

In specifically approved courses, instructors assign only Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory grades. Such courses count toward the maximum number of units graded S allowable toward the degree, as specified by each degree program.

If you previously received a letter grade in a course, you may not repeat it using the S/U option. If you receive an Incomplete in a course you took for a letter grade, you may not complete the course on a S/U basis. Ensure the grade mode you have selected reflects letter grading.
