The U of T academic calendar dates below include enrolment dates, drop deadlines, exam periods, petition deadlines and more. It is important to take note of all your UOFT important dates, and payment and refund deadlines.

At the University of Toronto, your refund eligibility depends on a variety of factors including how your fees are assessed (either program fee or per-course fee) and on what date you cancelled the course.

U of T academic calendar fall 2024

Check out the UOFT important dates and deadlines on the U of T academic calendar for Fall 2024.

  1. Fall and Winter course enrolment start times are available on ACORN for Arts & Science students (all years) on July 4, 2024.
  2. July 11, 2024 to July 27, 2024 is the course enrolment priority period for Faculty of Arts & Science students.
  3. July 11, 2024 is the first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for fourth-year (14.0+ credits) students, according to the U of T academic calendar 2024-2025.
  4. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for UOFT third-year students (9.0 – 13.5 credits) is July 14, 2024.
  5. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for UOFT second-year students (4.0 – 8.5 credits) is July 18, 2024.
  6. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for first-year students (fewer than 4.0 credits) is July 21, 2024.
  7. July 28, 2024 is Non-enrolment day. You cannot use ACORN to add, change, or drop courses.
  8. The general enrolment period for Faculty of Arts & Science students begins on July 29, 2024.
  9. August 2, 2024 is Non-enrolment day. You cannot use ACORN to add, change, or drop courses.
  10. The first day of course enrolment for St. George campus (downtown) students who have not enrolled on the Faculty of Arts & Science is August 3, 2024, according to the U of T academic calendar 2024-2025.
  11. August 3, 2024 is the first day of course enrolment for non-degree Arts & Science students.
  12. August 4, 2024 is Non-enrolment day. You cannot use ACORN to add, change, or drop courses.
  13. Course enrolment for other campuses opens on August 5, 2024 at 6 am. Arts & Science students can add UTM/UTSC courses, and UTM/UTSC students can add Arts & Science courses. Check out UTM’s important dates.
  14. August 31, 2024 is the Tuition fee payment/deferral deadline for the Fall/Winter session.
  15. UOFT move-in day fall 2024 is from Sunday, September 4, 2024 to Wednesday, September 7, 2024 for both first and upper-year students. The earliest move-in time will be at 8 a.m. The U of T University College Residences (UC) will be providing a staggered move-in approach to increase flexibility for U of T students.
  16. Labour Day holiday is September 5, 2024, according to the University of Toronto holiday schedule 2024.
  17. UOFT Fall 2024 classes start in F and Y courses on September 8, 2024. This is U of T fall classes start date.
  18. September 9, 2024 is the last day to request November 2024 graduation, according to the U of T academic calendar 2024-2025.
  19. Waitlists for F and Y courses close at end of the day on September 16, 2024.
  20. September 21, 2024 is the last day to enrol in F and Y courses.
  21. The last day to enrol or accept an invitation to a program for Fall/Winter is September 21, 2024.
  22. Program/course fee freeze date (F and Y courses) is September 21, 2024.
  23. September 21, 2024 is the first day to select a Credit/No-Credit (CR/NCR) option for F and Y courses.
  24. The Thanksgiving holiday is on October 10, 2024 (No classes) according to the University of Toronto holiday schedule 2024.
  25. November 16, 2024 is the last day to drop F courses. Note that according to the U of T academic calendar 2024-2025, some courses cannot be dropped using ACORN and students must contact their College or Department to do so.
  26. U of T Fall Reading Week 2024 is from November 7, 2024 to November 11, 2024.
  27. UOFT classes end in F courses and in Y courses (for Fall term) on December 7, 2024.
  28. December 7, 2024 is the last day to add or remove a CR/NCR option in Fall F courses.
  29. The deadline to request Late Withdrawal (LWD) from Fall F courses is December 7, 2024.
  30. At the instructor’s discretion, classes scheduled on Mondays will hold their last class on December 8, 2024 to make up for class missed due to the Thanksgiving holiday (Monday, October 10, 2024).
  31. Study Day is December 9, 2024.
  32. UOFT final assessments in F courses is from December 10 2024 to December 20, 2024. Term tests in Y courses.
  33. The University of Toronto closes for Winter Holidays from December 21, 2024 to December 30, 2024 inclusive.
  34. Winter classes for S and Y courses resume in January 2025.
  35. January 6, 2025 is the last day to submit a petition in F courses.
  36. January 6, 2025 is the last day for instructors to accept late-term work from F courses (including final assessments) without needing to submit a petition to the Faculty.

  1. The University of Toronto reopens after Winter Holidays on January 2, 2025.
  2. UOFT winter 2025 classes in S courses start on January 9, 2025. Classes in Y courses also resume on the same day.
  3. Waitlists for S courses close at end of the day on January 19, 2025.
  4. January 22, 2025 is the last day to enrol in S courses.
  5. Program/Course fee freeze date for S courses is January 22, 2025, according to the U of T academic calendar 2024-2025.
  6. January 22, 2025 is the first day to select a Credit/No-Credit (CR/NCR) option for S courses.
  7. Family Day 2024 is February 20, 2025, according to the University of Toronto holiday schedule 2024. The University of Toronto closes; no classes.
  8. The last day to drop Y courses is February 20, 2025. Note that according to the U of T academic calendar 2024-2025, some courses cannot be dropped using ACORN and students must contact their College or Department to do so.
  9. UOFT Winter Reading Week 2025 is from February 20 2025 to February 24, 2025.
  10. March 19, 2025 is the last day to drop S courses. Note that some courses cannot be dropped using ACORN and students must contact their College or Department to do so.
  11. UOFT winter classes end in S and Y courses on April 6, 2025.
  12. April 6, 2025 is the last day to add or remove a CR/NCR option in S and Y courses.
  13. The deadline to request Late Withdrawal (LWD) from S and Y courses at College Registrar’s Office is April 6, 2025.
  14. Good Friday is April 7, 2025, according to the University of Toronto holiday schedule 2025 – University closed; no classes or final assessments.
  15. Make-up Day (for Good Friday) is April 10, 2025. At the instructor’s discretion, classes scheduled on Fridays will hold their last class on April 10, 2025 to make up for class missed due to the Good Friday holiday (Friday, April 7, 2025).
  16. Final assessments in S and Y courses is from April 11, 2025 to April 28, 2025. Please note that assessments may be scheduled on Saturdays.
  17. Winter 2025 Final Assessment Contingency Day is April 29, 2025, according to the U of T academic calendar 2024-2025.
  18. Deferred final assessments from Winter 2025 is from May 2, 2025 to May 5, 2025.
