CWRU Academic Calendar 2024-2025. The formula for the Academic Calendar is approved by the Faculty Senate. The dates based on this formula that comprise the Academic Calendar each year are approved by both the Faculty Senate and Board of Trustees.

The formula contains basic rules and is not comprehensively applied to all schools, programs, courses, and teaching formats. 1. Registration (and Drop/Add) begin on April 4, 2024.
2. CWRU fall 2024 classes start on August 29, 2024.
3. The late Registration Fee ($25) begins on August 30, 2024.
4. Labor Day Holiday is September 5, 2024.
5. Late Registration and Drop/Add ends on September 9, 2024.
6. The Undergraduate Deadline for Credit/Audit is September 9, 2024.
7. CWRU Fall Break 2024 is from Mondayday, October 24 to Tuesday, October 25, 2024. Residence Halls remain open.
8. The First meal after Fall Break (Fribley Dining Commons) is on Tuesday, October 25, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
9. Mid-Semester grades are due for Undergraduates on October 24, 2024.
10. The deadline, for the prior term I grade removal is on November 11, 2024.
11. The deadline for Credit/Audit for graduates is November 11, 2024.
12. The deadline for class Withdrawal and P/NP (upper-class Undergraduate) is November 11, 2024.
13. CWRU Thanksgiving break 2024 is from November 24 to November 25, 2024.
14. The deadline for Class Withdrawal and P/NP for first-year Undergraduates is December 9, 2024.
15. The last day of class for the fall semester of 2024 is December 9, 2024.
16. Reading Days are December 12, and December 16, 2024.
17. CWRU Final Exams are from December 13, 2024, to December 21, 2024.
18. The last meal before Winter Break is on Wednesday, December 21, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.
19. CWRU Winter break 2024 is from Thursday, December 22, 2024, to Wednesday, January 11, 2025. Buildings close for Winter Break (except Upper-Class Experience apartment-style housing) at 3 p.m.
20. Fall 2024 Final Grades are due by 11:00 am on December 23, 2024.
21. Fall Awarding of Degrees (graduation date) is on January 20, 2025.

3. CWRU Spring 2025 Move-in Day for New First-Year, Transfer, and Exchange Students is on Wednesday, January 11, 2025 at 9 a.m.
4. Buildings open after Winter Break for returning students on Thursday, January 12, 2025 at 9 a.m.
5. The first meal after Winter Break is Sunday, January 15, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.
6. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday is January 16, 2025.
7. CWRU Spring 2025 classes start on January 17, 2025.
8. The late Registration Fee ($25) begins on January 18, 2025.
9. The official “No-Show” Date is Thursday, January 19, 2025.
10. Late Registration and Drop/Add End on January 27, 2025.

13. CWRU Spring Break 2025 is from Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 17, 2025. Residence Halls remain open throughout the Case Western Reserve University Spring recess. All Dining Commons are closed.
14. Spring 2025 Mid-Semester grades are due for undergraduates on March 13, 2025.
15. The first meal after Spring Break is Sunday, March 19, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.
16. The deadline, for the prior term I grade removal is March 31, 2025.
17. March 31, 2025 is the deadline for Credit/Audit for graduates.
18. The deadline for Class Withdrawal and P/NP for upper-class undergraduates is March 31, 2025.
19. Open registration for Summer 2025 begins on April 3, 2025.

21. The deadline for Class Withdrawal and P/NP for first-year undergraduate students on May 1, 2025.
22. The last day of classes for Spring 2025 is May 1, 2025.
23. Spring 2025 Reading Days are May 2, and May 3, 2025.
24. Final Exams Begin on May 4, 2025 and end on May 11, 2025.
25. Final grades are due by 11:00 am on May 13, 2025.
26. Case Western Reserve University Commencement (graduation date) is May 21, 2025.
27. CWRU Buildings Close for All Students on Monday, May 22, 2025.
