Middle Tennessee State University is a public university in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Founded in 1911 as a normal school, the university consists of eight undergraduate colleges as well as a college of graduate studies, together offering more than 300 degree programs through more than 35 departments

The Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is on a semester system made up of Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Each semester consists of fifteen (15) weeks of academic activities.

At MTSU, a minimum of 12 hours per semester is required to remain a full-time student. The maximum enrollment is 18 hours per semester. A reasonable class load is between 15 and 18 hours, but strong consideration should be taken under advisement for travel time, job, and family commitments.

1. Fall 2024 Priority Registration is from April 4, 2024 to April 15, 2024.
2. MTSU move-in day for fall 2024 is on Sunday, August 14, 2024. MTSU Housing will provide students with their assigned move-in time. Commuters will come at the assigned check-in time on Sunday, August 14th.
3. August 21, 2024 is the 100% Fee Adjustment Deadline. The last day for students to drop all Fall classes and receive a 100% fee adjustment, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2024-2025.
4. MTSU Fall 2024 classes start on August 22, 2024. Full and Accelerated 1 Terms begin.
5. Late registration and drop/add on PipelineMT is on August 22, 2024; Late registration fee – $100.
6. Labor Day Holiday is September 5, 2024. No Classes, Middle Tennessee State University is closed.
7. September 15, 2024 is the first day to make applications for Spring 2025 and Fall 2025/Spring 2024.
8. The second payment plan instalment due date is September 30, 2024.

15. MTSU Thanksgiving Holidays 2024 are from November 23, 2024 to November 26, 2024. No Classes/University is closed from November 24 – November 26, 2024.
16. The fourth payment plan instalment due date is November 30, 2024.

1. October 15, 2024 is the 1st of 4 deadlines to submit the License Agreement Cancellation Request for review by the Committee. Forms at MT Housing Portal under Forms/Agreement.
2. October 15, 2024 is the deadline to cancel housing reservations for the Spring 2025 semester and receive a full refund of the Spring 2025 prepaid rent deposit for those graduating and not returning to take classes at MTSU.
3. November 4, 2024 is the last date to submit requests for Spring 2025 assignment changes.
4. MTSU Spring 2025 Priority Registration starts from November 7, 2024 to November 18, 2024, according to the MTSU academic calendar 2024-2025.
5. November 15, 2024 is the 2nd of 4 deadlines to submit the License Agreement Cancellation Request for review by the Committee.

10. MTSU Residence Halls are open for returning residents from January 14, 2025 to January 16, 2025 (9 am Saturday – 6:30 pm Monday).
11. January 15, 2025 is the 4th and final deadline to submit the Spring 2025 License Agreement Cancellation Request for review by Committee.
12. MLK, Jr. Day is Monday, January 16, 2025, according to the MTSU holiday calendar schedule 2025.
13. MTSU spring 2025 classes start on Tuesday, January 17, 2025 after MLK, Jr. Day.
14. January 27, 2025 is the Fall 2024 – Spring 2025 Reapplication deadline for priority assignment for current residents.
