BU academic calendar fall 2024

Here are the important dates and deadlines on the BU academic calendar for fall 2024.

1. The degree conferral date for official Summer Graduates is August 25 each year.
2. BU Fall move-in day 2024 is from Wednesday, August 31, 2024, to Monday, September 5, 2024. Starting Thursday, July 7, 2024, at noon, students must choose an appointment date and time for their move-in to campus housing using the My Housing Portal. Each move-in day offers two different appointment times: Group A has a move-in window from 8 am – 12 pm, while Group B has a window from 1 pm – 5 pm.
3. Labor Day Holiday is September 5 2024.
4. BU Fall classes start on September 6 2024. First Seven-Week Session begins.
5. September 12, 2024 is the official Registration Deadline for Standard Courses for Continuing, New, and Transfer Students (non-MET only).
6. The last day to Add Standard Courses is September 19, 2024.
7. September 19, 2024 is the Official Registration deadline for MET Students.
8. September 19, 2024 is the last day for Undergraduate Students to Change Standard Courses from Credit to Audit Status.
9. Indigenous People’s Day Holiday is October 10 2024.
10. October 11, 2024 is the last day to Drop Standard Courses (without a “W” grade).
11. The last day for Graduate Students to Change Standard Courses from Credit to Audit Status is October 11, 2024.
12. First Seven-Week Session ends on October 24 2024.
13. Second Seven-Week Session begins on October 25 2024.
14. November 14, 2024 is the last day to Drop Standard Courses (with a “W” grade).
15. The last day for Undergraduate Students to Designate a Course as Pass/Fail is November 14, 2024.
16. BU Thanksgiving break 2024 is from November 23 2024, to November 27 2024.
17. Classes resume on November 28 2024.
18. November 29, 2024 is the last day to Officially Take a Leave of Absence or withdraw from the University.
19. December 12 2024 is the last day of classes; Second Seven-Week Session Ends.
20. Study Period is from December 13 2024, to December 14 2024.
21. Final exams begin on December 15 2024, to December 21 2024.
22. Fall 2024 Graduation is on January 13 2025.
