URI academic calendar fall 2022

URI fall 2022 semester has 16 weeks of instruction. Here are the important dates and deadlines on the URI academic calendar for fall 2022.

1. URI move-in day fall 2022 begins on Thursday, September 1, 2022 to Sunday, September 4 2022, for freshmen and returning students. Each residence hall will have a designated move-in date, and students will select a move-in time in URI MyHousing to spread congestion.
2. Advising day is September 6 2022.
3. URI Fall classes start on September 7, 2022. Pro-rata billing period for all classes begins.
4. URI e-Campus Open Add Period is September 7, 2022 to September 13, 2022.
5. URI e-Campus Permission Number Late Add Period is September 14, 2022 to September 20, 2022.
6. September 20, 2022 is the last day to add the Pass/Fail Option.
7. Courses dropped on September 29 2022, or after this date will have a “W” for Withdrawal recorded on the academic record (transcript).
8. Columbus Day is October 10, 2022 – Classes do not meet, offices are closed.
9. October 19, 2022 is the last day for students to DROP courses in e-Campus (late drop form required after this date).
10. Mid-semester is October 21 2022 on the URI academic calendar 2022-2023.
11. October 21, 2022 is the last day to CHANGE from Pass/Fail Option.
12. Freshmen Mid Term Grades and Mid Term Surveys are due in e-Campus by 12:00 pm on October 25, 2022.
13. Election Day is November 8, 2022. Classes do not meet, and offices are closed
14. Friday Classes meet (Veterans Day Class makeup) on November 9, 2022.
15. Veteran’s Day is November 11, 2022. Classes do not meet, and offices are closed
16. Thanksgiving break 2022 is from November 24, 2022 to November 27, 2022.
17. The last day of Classes for fall 2022 is December 13, 2022.
18. Reading day is December 14, 2022.
19. Final Examination is from December 15, 2022 to December 16, 2022 and from December 19, to December 21 2022.
20. December 22 2022 is Final Exams Make-up Day. It is used only in the event of Official Snow Delay or Cancellation.
21. Final grades are due in e-Campus by 12:00 pm on December 28, 2022.
22. The official date for December graduation is December 31, 2022.
23. Commencement Ceremonies is from May 20, 2023 to May 22, 2023.

3. URI Summer 2023 classes start for Summer Session 1 and Summer Session 3 on May 22 2023 and begin for Summer Session 2 on June 26 2023.
4. May 26 is the Last day to ADD for Summer Session 1 and Summer Session 3. The last day to ADD for Summer Session 2 is June 30, 2023.
5. The last day to drop with 100% Adjustment of Fees is May 23 2023 for Summer Session 1, June 27 2023 for Summer Session 2, and May 26 2023 for Summer Session 3.
