The LHC is a giant, 27 kilometre-long machine buried underground on the Swiss-French border that studies particles.

The LHC has now been back on for just over two months, but CERN officially commenced a brand new experiment on July 5th which will run until 2026.
It will run continuously for four years at a record energy of 13.6 trillion electronvolts, colliding beams of protons at each other with higher energy than ever before.

PEOPLE THINK THE WORLD WILL END
A conspiracy theory has taken over social media that the world is going to end today as the CERN collider is going to open a huge black hole that will end all life on earth.
It all stems from the fact that CERN revealed that the “formation of tiny ‘quantum’ black holes may be possible” after July 5th.
This led many conspiracy theorists to claim that a huge black hole will form and wipe out the world. However, the LHC “will not generate black holes in the cosmological sense” and the test is “perfectly safe”, CERN said.
There are two types of black holes, ones that form in space when stars collapse on themselves at the end of their lives and particles produced in the collisions of pairs of protons.
In this case, we’re talking about the latter, which are microscopic or quantum black holes – not the type that would wipe out all living things.
Nonetheless, conspiracy theorists have run wild with the idea that the world is going to end on July 5th and many are fearing that today could be doomsday.
OTHERS SAY IT’S OPENING A PORTAL
Another spiritual theory claims that the major particle smash will open a portal to different dimensions.
This particular theory is taking over TikTok where one user said: “CERN are opening a portal to the other dimension… the portal opens a gateway to the future.”
Others theories claim that CERN is opening up a portal to the underworld, with another TikTok user adding: “They are literally trying to open a portal to hell.”
“People on this app are saying there are going to be portals in the sky, you’re gonna be able to see demons and we should all be really afraid of this day,” another TikTok user said.
Again, there isn’t any truth to these wild claims, but people on social media are going crazy over the portal theory.
MANY ARE USING THE DAY FOR MANIFESTATION
CERN’s Large Hadron Collider is going to be smashing atoms together at a higher energy than ever before, and many are using this high energy in the universe as an opportunity to manifest.
